![]() About CSFChristian Student Fellowship is a ministry reaching out to college students in Southern Indiana including Indiana University Southeast and Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg. This ministry is sponsored by the Southeastern Indiana Baptist Association and the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana. We welcome the involvement of students of any denomination as well as those who may not share our beliefs, but are interested in learning more about the Christian Faith. Below is a concise statement of our mission and brief summary of our core beliefs. MISSION STATEMENTThe Christian Student Fellowship exists to bring glory to God and build His Kingdom by calling students to connect to Christ, creating opportunities for students to connect to Christian community, and challenging students to connect to local churches. CORE VALUESThe Authority of the BibleWe believe that the Holy Bible including the Old and New Testament is the uniquely inspired revelation of God. It is totally true and trustworthy. As the Word of God, this Scripture is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. In light of this truth, the Bible should be taught in a way that is faithful to the meaning of the text and that effectively communicates in contemporary culture. The Glory of GodWe believe that there is one and only one living and true God eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As the infinitely holy and perfect Creator, Redeemer, Preserver and Ruler of the universe He alone is worthy of our worship. The Lordship of ChristWe believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the divine Son of God who perfectly revealed and did the will of the God the Father. He was fully God and fully man. Through His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father where He is the One Mediator between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. Jesus Christ is to be recognized as the Lord of life and is worthy of our reverence and obedience. The Power of the Holy SpiritWe believe that the Holy Spirit is the fully divine Spirit of God. He inspired The Bible and now enables men to understand its truth. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He is the agent of life-changing regeneration and the ongoing transformation of believers. He empowers the believer to grow in godliness, to worship, to serve, and to witness. The Necessity of ConversionWe believe that, left to himself, every man rejects God's rightful rule, and rightfully faces God's judgment for this ebellion. The only hope of salvation from God's judgment is to turn from personal rebellion and trust in the work of Jesus Christ in His life, death, and resurrection for salvation. The Mission of BelieversWe believe that Christians are called to participate in the expansion of the Kingdom of God by bearing witness to the saving works of Jesus Christ and calling lost people to repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ. The Need for HolinessWe believe that God has commanded that believers live a life of increasing personal holiness. That they are called to present an accurate reflection of the Christ they follow. This is true of all Christians, but is vital in those who are leading fellow believers. The Responsibility of DiscipleshipWe believe that Christians are responsible to strive to grow in their understanding of and obedience to God. They are called to discipline themselves for the purpose of Godliness. We also believe that mature believers have a responsibility to facilitate the growth of younger believers through developing intentional relationships, teaching the essential truths of Christianity, and modeling a growing faith. The Power of PrayerWe believe that God hears and answers prayers in ways that are consistent with His character and are for our ultimate good. We believe that prayer is a means that God has given to believers to participate in accomplishing His purposes for the world. This includes transforming the lives of sinners and maturing believers' faith. The Importance of CommunityWe believe that the Christian faith was meant to be lived in community with other believers. It is vital to the health of every Christian to partner with other believers to be encouraged in growth and purity. This community is to express the love of Christ through sharing the gospel as well as challenge and encourage fellow believers in their walk with God. The Unity of the ChurchWe believe that the New Testament speaks of the church as the Body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue and people and nation. As a part of the body of Christ this organization will seek to work together with believers of like faith to promote the Kingdom of God. The Value of the Local ChurchWe believe that participation in a local congregation of believers is an essential part of true discipleship and it is vital to the health of each believer. This ministry will strongly encourage every member, and require all leaders to be actively involved in a healthy, Bible believing local church. | |
